In the HUB

How it all started

I love the idea of a group of people painting together. I used to consistently go to art classes and found them constricting because everyone painted the same thing and I felt self-conscious. I was searching for an art session with like-minded people, lots of ideas and energy with the theme of absolutely no judgement.

Painting is a way to calm the soul irrelevant of experience or skill. Why cant one paint because its enjoyable rather than the focus to be solely on the outcome!

This was the concept that made Art Hub LDN!

I know that everyone has their own style of what they like so decided to open up my studio in my garden once a week to anybody who wanted to be in a nurturing space where we could paint and enjoy a cuppa. I wanted to bring like-minded people together to create, to build each other up, to exchange thoughts and ideas.

I first opened my studio doors 3 years ago for the Adult Hub and started with 2 painters. I am now here with 4 weekly adult classes. That’s 32 people that come every week to share in the joy that painting gives.

I am humbled each and every single day by the absolute trust each and every person has to be able to lay their soul on the table each week and create such exquisite art. I take joy in discussing each and every piece, to make each person comfortable and happy.

I also decided to set up the Kids Hub and offer kids termly art sessions and the opportunity to enjoy a few days in the holidays to be in a real art studio learning the joy of the world of art and continuing the ethos that Art Hub LDN offers to our adult artists. The kids are encouraged to not judge themselves, but rather to make mistakes, be creative and to just let go!

Our common mantra is to enjoy the feeling that painting and being creative has to offer! The art is actually in the doing, it’s that feeling that I want to bottle up and keep with me but it’s also nice to go home with a picture of how we got there.

After school weekly kids art classes.

A space where kids can express and embrace their inner creative voice
